The Teaching School Alliance is currently working in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University to offer a Leadership Development Programme with the opportunity to gain a Masters Degree. The focus of the programme is to improve effectiveness as a manager by helping education professionals to think through wider strategic and ethical issues as well as developing leadership skills. The programme will:


  • Support talent management
  • Develop and hone leadership skills
  • Underpin school improvement through further opportunity, development and culture of the ‘teacher researcher’
  • Use assessment methodology that is relevant, supports innovation and encourages experiential learning bespoke to the needs of individual Academies improvement priorities
  • Develop a framework that is built on maximising personalisation
  • Provide a modular approach and be accredited through Sheffield Hallam University to gain credits at Masters level
  • Develop excellence in governance
  • Build capacity of middle and senior leaders of the future to ensure they are nurtured from entry to the profession or on entry to the alliance

Continuing Professional Development

Delta Academies Trust have developed a central CPD programme which consists of three main strands of development - Induction, Operational and Teaching & Learning. Within each of these strands, training and courses are available for all staff in Delta Academies Trust to access and attend. The programme has been designed to meet the needs and requirements of all our academies, including statutory training to developmental training to improve performance and knowledge. The programme is targeted at teaching and non-teaching staff, for staff at all levels of their career.
