Teacher Subject Specialism Training - Maths

Delta Academies Trust is delighted to have secured further funding to deliver teacher subject specialism training in Maths for a third academic year.

As part of the national TSST initiative, the Trust is offering new teachers or non-specialist teachers the opportunity to develop Maths subject knowledge through this fully funded programme.

TSST Maths is an ideal opportunity for participants to upskill - build on existing knowledge and teaching experience to ensure the best possible learning outcomes for young people in our Academies. Maths departments will further develop capacity for teaching Mastery at KS3 and new content in KS4 at higher level.

KS3 delivery of Mastery - suitable for:

• NQTs
• Non-specialist teachers who could potentially teach Maths in addition to, or as their main subject
• Non-specialist teachers who are currently teaching Maths (either full-time or in addition to the specialist subject)
• Teachers who are looking to return to the profession

KS4 delivery of Higher topics new to GCSE – suitable for:

• Maths teachers who have been teaching middle to low ability sets and would like to refresh their ‘A’ Level knowledge.

Delta TSST builds on existing best practice in the area of Mathematics 11-16. The programme is led by Maths specialists within the Trust in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University. Professional Accreditation is available.
